2-2015 - Immovable Property Tax 2015 - 24 Sept 2015

According to the Law amending The Immovable Property Tax (IPT) Laws, which was voted by the Cyprus House of Representatives on Thursday 17 September 2015 and published in the Official Gazette of the Republic on Friday 18 September 2015, the following changes were made:

 
1.     The deadline for paying the IPT for the year 2015 is extended from 30 September 2015 to 31 December 2015.
 
2.     In cases where a person proceeds with the settlement of his tax liability by at least 30 calendar days before the deadline, i.e. by 1 December 2015, the following discount will be granted:
 
-         17,5% (e.g. for payments at the Tax Department’s cash desks)or
 
-         20% for settling the tax due via internet or at a licensed banking institution.
 
It should also be noted that, if the tax liability is not settled by the due date of 31 December 2015, an additional charge of 10% will be imposed on the tax due.
